Job summary

Construction Material Testing seeks a Coatings Inspector II to lead inspection of protective coatings and linings on industrial, water, and infrastructure projects with sign-off authority. You will plan hold points, verify surface preparation, and confirm cure before approving each step.

The role requires AMPP CIP Level 2 certification with 2+ years of experience, knowledge of SSPC/NACE standards, and the ability to supervise Level 1 inspectors on larger jobs. Travel and per diem may apply.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 2 certification, current, with 2+ years inspecting under it.
• Familiar with SSPC/NACE surface prep standards and common industrial coating systems.
• Experience on tank, pipeline, water/wastewater, or structural steel coatings.

Responsibilities

• Plan inspection hold points and testing per coating specifications.
• Verify surface prep, application, and cure with sign-off at each hold point.
• Perform adhesion, holiday, and cure testing; write inspections and nonconformance reports.
