Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspections under a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. You will verify surface prep, measure film thickness, and document each coating phase on tanks and structures.

The role requires current CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year of industrial coatings experience. Work involves field inspection around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.

Qualifications

• AMPP CIP Level 1 certification current.
• At least 1 year in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working around tanks, structures, blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.
• Honest about what the gauge reads.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions before and during application.
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile.
• Measure wet and dry film thickness and check for holidays/defects.
• Verify coating materials, batch numbers, mixing, and pot life against the datasheet.
• Keep the daily coating inspection log and photograph each stage.
