Job summary

Construction Material Testing is seeking a Coatings Inspector I to perform basic inspection of protective coating work under the direction of a CIP Level 2 or 3 inspector. Responsibilities include verifying surface prep, measuring ambient conditions, and documenting coating applications on tanks and structures.

The role requires current AMPP CIP Level 1 certification and at least 1 year in industrial coatings inspection, with travel to project sites as needed.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in industrial coatings application or inspection.
• Comfortable working in tanks, on structures, and around blasting and spray operations.
• Meticulous with instruments and records.

Responsibilities

• Measure and record ambient conditions (temperature, humidity, dew point).
• Verify surface preparation to SSPC/NACE cleanliness and profile standards.
• Measure wet film thickness and dry film thickness; check holidays/defects.
