Job summary

Superior Skilled Trades seeks an experienced Estimator III – Coatings to prepare accurate estimates for industrial, heavy civil, and commercial coating projects. You will collaborate with operations, engineering, and subcontractors throughout bidding and project handoffs.

Responsibilities include takeoffs with Bluebeam and Excel, risk assessment, vendor pricing, and developing bid packages, with mentoring support for junior estimators on the team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in construction, heavy civil, industrial, or related projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, scheduling, logistics, risk evaluation, and project costing.
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple bids while meeting deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Review drawings, specs, and contracts to develop complete estimates.
• Perform quantity takeoffs using Bluebeam.
• Identify risks and clarify needs via RFIs.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/subcontractor pricing.
• Develop scopes, budgets, bid packages, and proposals.
• Coordinate handoffs to operations after award.
• Support process improvements in estimating efficiency.
• Mentor and assist junior estimating team members.
