Job summary

Miratechcorp in Maryville, TN is seeking a Coatings Technician to apply alumina wash coat to catalyst substrates and support the coating department's daily operations.

You will perform wash coat preparation, ensure compliance with quality specs, conduct final inspections, and assist with packaging. The role requires physical work and careful handling of materials, PPE usage, and safe forklift operation. This is a hands-on role for candidates with manufacturing exposure and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Ability to produce high quality products in a timely manner.
• Proficient in the use of tools such as tape measure, calipers, forklifts, and cranes.
• Prior manufacturing exposure, chemical handling experience, quality control and quality assurance, process blending and mixing experience, ability to operate forklift (preferred, but not required)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.

Responsibilities

• Apply Alumina wash coat to catalyst substrate
• Ensure quality specifications meet compliance standards
• Perform final quality check on each element
• Package element in appropriate container
• Prepare and analyze alumina 100 wash coat, bulk batch and dip tank.
• Demonstrate proper selection/use PPE for coating department
• Proper product staging, storage, and coating preparation for CO product
• First and second wash coat dipping and data input
• Understand and identify product quality specifications
• Material handling and transporting of product
• Other duties as assigned.
