Oerlikon in Agawam, MA is seeking a Technician to set up and monitor coating machines, prepare systems, load/unload chambers, and assemble chamber loads per customer specs. You will maintain equipment, train teammates, and ensure quality throughout processing.

The role includes a 2nd shift Mon-Fri 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM with a 5% shift premium and overtime opportunities, plus a comprehensive benefits package starting day one.

We are looking for a Technician for our Agawam, MA production facility. In this role you will be responsible for the set up and monitoring of the Coating Machines. The Main responsibility is to prepare the coating system, load, unload the chamber, change the magnetic systems and input process parameters in the operator screen. This Individual will pre-treat a variety of customer products using standardized methods to prepare products for coating. You will use analytical thinking and a high-degree of creativity to oversee and assemble chamber loads based on customer specifications. As part of your regular responsibilities, you will make critical processing decisions to initiate the coating process and be responsible for disassembling and reconfiguring the chamber for subsequent loads.

Your 2nd shift work schedule will be Mon - Fri, 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM. A shift premium of 5% will be added to your base hourly rate. Overtime opportunities available.

Your Responsibilities

• Learning fixturing and de fixturing techniquesMaintaining and updating equipment records
• Assisting with quality assurance and other technical matters as required
• Performing other duties as required to assure customer satisfaction
• Interact with customers and co-workers in a ‘customer-friendly’ manner
• Receive and inspect customer product for processing
• Establish product process sequence
• Inspect finished product
• Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor/Management.

Your Profile

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Prior machine operator experience preferred
• Effective verbal /writing skills
• Ability to read/write/speak English

Oerlikon is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the current compensation range for this position, which is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. Some positions within Oerlikon may also offer eligibility to participate in a discretionary incentive program. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for the role will be based on a variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, internal equity, job location, work experience, education, training, certifications, licenses, etc. Therefore, as compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each individual, it is likely that not all applicants will be hired at the highest end of the listed compensation range. Our total compensation package goes beyond base compensation and it will include a competitive benefits package starting with 2 weeks paid time off accrued on a monthly basis, 12 holidays, 48 hours personal/sick time (exception for NY where we follow State law,) medical, dental, vision, 401K, holidays, pet insurance and tuition reimbursement all effective day one of hire.
