Job summary

Chromalloy is seeking a Chemical Process Operator to perform thermal coating processes used to apply pack aluminide coatings to gas turbine engine components. You will work as part of a team supporting coating application, surface preparation, inspection, and documentation while upholding safety and quality standards.

Shift is overnight, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM with a rotating pattern and a $3.00/hr shift differential.

Responsibilities

• Perform pack aluminide coating processes, including A12 retort packing and A12 furnace loading.
• Apply spray coatings and perform abrasive blasting in accordance with work instructions and customer specifications.
• Monitor coating application and adherence to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Inspect and certify your own work using measuring and inspection tools.
• Complete required quality documentation and production records.
• Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
• Support 5S, CPEX, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Working as part of a team, this role supports the manufacture and repair of aerospace components through coating application, surface preparation, inspection, and documentation while maintaining high quality and safety standards.

Shift

: Overnight, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Rotating 12-hour schedule with a pattern of three nights on, three nights off, one night on, and one night off

Shift Differential

: $3.00/hr.

What You'll Be Doing

• Perform pack aluminide coating processes, including A12 retort packing and A12 furnace loading.
• Apply spray coatings and perform abrasive blasting in accordance with work instructions and customer specifications.
• Monitor coating application and adherence to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Perform additional processing tasks as needed, including assembly, disassembly, vibratory tumbling, blending, peening, grit blasting, and masking/preparation.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance on equipment and machinery.
• Inspect and certify your own work using measuring and inspection tools.
• Complete required quality documentation and production records.
• Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and quality standards.
• Support 5S, CPEX, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to clearly communicate in English, including speaking, reading, writing, and understanding work instructions.

Nice to Have

• Manufacturing experience.
• Coatings, thermal processing, or special process experience.
• Aerospace or gas turbine component manufacturing experience.
• Experience with abrasive blasting, masking, peening, or surface preparation processes.
• Experience working in a NADCAP-accredited or regulated manufacturing environment.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Manufacturing environment with exposure to coatings, thermal processes, fumes, noise, and industrial equipment.
• Regular standing, reaching, lifting, and repetitive hand movements throughout the shift.
• Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and follow all safety procedures.
• May require work near high-temperature furnaces and coating equipment.
