Chromalloy Corporation in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Coating-Plasma Chemical Process Operator for 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:30pm, Mon-Fri). The role involves thermally applying coatings to gas turbine engine components as part of a high‑precision manufacturing team.

You will spray coat, monitor adherence to specs, read blueprints, perform necessary prep and post‑treatment tasks, maintain safety and quality, and participate in continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Must have HS Diploma or GED and strong shop mathematics.
  • 3–5 years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints; work in a team.

Responsibilities

  • Performs spray coating application and monitors coating adherence per work instructions and customer specifications.
  • May perform assembly, disassembly, blending, grit blast and masking/prep as required.
  • Maintains safety and quality standards and performs routine maintenance on equipment.
  • Prepares quality documents and confirms quality using inspection tools according to specs.

Coating‑Plasma Chemical Process Operator

2nd shift (3:00pm – 11:30pm) Monday - Friday

Position Summary

Operator is responsible for performing processes to thermally apply coatings as part of a team to manufacture and repair gas turbine engine components.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Performs tasks such as spray coating application, monitors coating application and coating adherence per work instructions, and customer specifications.
  • May perform tasks such as assembly, disassembly, blending, grit blast and masking/prep in accordance with work instructions and customer specifications.
  • Performs all work in accordance with plant safety rules and maintains highest quality standards in the execution of all assigned work.
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on all machines and other routine labor work as required in accordance with production flow.
  • Operator prepares necessary quality documents and confirms quality of own work using inspection tools in accordance with product specifications, blueprints, drawings, and work instructions.
  • Operator adheres to all 5s policies and has a continuous improvement mindset.
Qualifications
  • Must have HS Diploma or GED. Strong shop mathematics, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals and fractions required.
  • On the job experience of 3-5 years in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.

Individual compensation within the range is determined by multiple factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, job related skills, internal equity, and market conditions.
