Job summary

EnerStaff LLC is hiring a Coating Operator for the 2nd shift in Houston, TX. This temp-to-hire role offers $17-$19 per hour, with start ASAP. You will apply coatings (powder or solvent), monitor thickness, and ensure quality and safety standards.

The position requires 1-3 years in coating or spray painting, experience with powder coating, and ability to read blueprints. You will load parts, perform equipment checks, and follow PPE rules in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with coating or spray painting, including powder coating.
• 1-3 years’ experience completing warehouse tasks.
• Experience in waterworks or related products preferred.

Responsibilities

• Apply coatings according to production specifications and work instructions.
• Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and finish requirements.
• Prepare surfaces before coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, blasting as required).
• Read and interpret job orders and coating specifications.
• Load and unload parts onto coating lines or workstations.
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance.
• Identify and report coating defects or equipment issues.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the area.
• Adhere to safety rules, PPE requirements including respirator, and company policies.

Coating Operator (Temp-to-Hire)

Shift: 2nd 3:30pm-2am

Location: Houston, TX 77082 (Energy Corridor)

Start: ASAP

Pay: $17-$19/ hour

Summary

The Coating Operator is responsible for applying coatings, both powder or solvent based or other finishes to manufactured parts using various equipment and processes. The Coating Operator ensures parts meet quality, safety, and production standards.

Essential Functions

• Apply coatings according to production specifications and work instructions
• Monitor coating thickness, adhesion, and finish requirements
• Prepare surfaces before coating (cleaning, masking, sanding, blasting as required)
• Read and interpret job orders and coating specifications

Duties and Responsibilities

• Load and unload parts onto coating lines or workstations
• Perform routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Identify and report coating defects or equipment issues
• Maintain the cleanliness of the area
• Adhere to all safety rules, PPE requirements including full face respirator, and company policies
• Other tasks assigned by supervisor or management

Education/Experience

• Experience with coating or spray painting, including powder coating, both with manual and automatic systems

• 1-3 years’ experience completing warehouse tasks
• Experience in a warehouse/distribution center specializing in the waterworks industry or related products
• Experience with powder coating

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Able to lift and move up to 45 pounds during a 10-hour shift
• Frequently required to stand, bend, and lift during a 10-hour shift
• Repetitive use of hands and arms
• Must be able to wear required PPE, including respirators and protective gear
• Able to work in various climate conditions
• Exposure to moving machinery, heavy materials, and grinding equipment
• Overtime and weekend work may occasionally be required
• Must pass background and drug screen
