Salary Range: $17.00 To $18.50 Hourly
Position Summary
The Coatings Operator is responsible for the loading, unloading, and preparation of parts for the automated powder coating paint line.
Coatings Operator LOADING Duties And Responsibilities
- Loading Parts
- Hanging Hooks
- Hanging Tabs
- Keep Hooks Burnt Off
- Line Density
- Unload Burn Off Hooks
- May perform other duties as assigned
Quality Responsibilities (Loading)
- Visual Inspection looking for slag, double punching, missing holes, imperfections in steel, etc.
PM and 6S Responsibilities (Loading)
- OPM-034 Wheelabrator
- Loading and Staging Area
Coatings Operator UNLOADING Duties And Responsibilities
- Unloading Line
- Building Panel Skids
- Placing and Prepping Skids
- Prepping Foam
- Removing Hooks from Line
- Mix Touch-up Paint
- May perform other duties as assigned
Quality Responsibilities (Unloading)
- Touch-up Edges, Hooks
- Visual Inspection
PM and 6S Responsibilities (Unloading)
- Forklift PMs
- OPM-034 Wheelabrator
- Loading and Staging Area
Coatings Operator Skills And Specifications
- Ability to safely operate and obtain certification to operate a forklift
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
- Solid problem‑solving skills
- Ability to contribute and work in a team environment
- Ability to demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness to ensure first‑quality of work
- Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with people in the course of work
- Willingness to work additional hours in order to meet tight deadlines
Coatings Operator Education And Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience
Coatings Operator Physical Requirements
The employee must stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch. The employee is occasionally required to crawl, talk or hear; taste or smell, and lift and/or move up to 45 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Coatings Operator Work Environment
The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
