Job summary

Oerlikon is seeking a Service Technician for our Alma, MI facility. You will perform, document, and schedule maintenance for coating and support equipment, lead improvements, and mentor peers as needed to support production.

You’ll work with Center Manager and regional management to optimize equipment performance and uptime. The role requires a 2-year degree or equivalent electro-mechanical experience, 2+ years in HVAC/industrial repair, and hands-on ability to troubleshoot schematics.

Qualifications

• Two-year degree or relevant industry certification in electro-mechanical discipline.
• 2+ years’ experience with HVAC, vacuum tech, automotive, or industrial equipment repair.
• Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical/mechanical schematics.

Responsibilities

• Schedule preventive maintenance with production per MES.
• Perform and document preventive maintenance on all facility equipment.
• Provide emergency repairs to keep production running.
• Ensure compliance with equipment standards set by manufacturers.
• Identify shutdowns and plan actions to resolve issues.
• Maintain equipment reliability data and manage inventory to minimize downtime.
• Ensure safety practices and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Provide training to coating technicians on processes and maintenance.
