Job summary

General-Formulations in Sparta, MI is seeking a Coater Apprentice for the 2nd shift (3pm–11pm). You will learn to set up and operate the coater, follow production schedules, and support material handling in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

In the first year you will train to fully operate the coating line, monitor product thickness and moisture, perform shop floor transactions, and troubleshoot basic process issues while moving toward a Coater Operator role.

Qualifications

• Must have good oral communication and be able to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Self-motivated and eager to learn multiple coaters and progress to a Coater Operator.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.

Responsibilities

• Operate the coater safely and efficiently under supervision.
• Follow production schedules, pull materials from warehouse, and maintain FIFO flow.
• Load, splice, and maintain rolls; monitor thickness and moisture to spec.
• Set up and assist in coating line changes; perform shop floor transactions.
• Help with housekeeping and lifting tasks (up to 100 lbs).
