Shift: 6pm to 6am, rotating 4 days on and 4 days off

What You’ll Do:

  • Responsible for proper operating and maintenance of coating equipment, use of lithography, and operation of the oven, accountable for the quality of his/her duties, under supervision.
  • Services, sets-up, operates, maintains, adjusts, makes changeovers, and wash-up. Performs these duties to maintain maximum production efficiency and product quality.
  • Diagnoses mechanical and quality problems. Determines necessary repairs and restores defective equipment to service with minimum amount of spoilage and delays.
  • Perform inspection procedures at the scheduled intervals, enter the corresponding data into a Windows computer, and react accordingly to any nonstandard conditions.
  • Demonstrate the ability to efficiently maintain and overhaul assigned equipment.
  • Completes as much “make-ready” as possible to help accomplish efficient changeovers, sets oven temperatures, maintains steady supply of specified coating materials and thinners at the coater line, and after changeovers removes to storage any materials used on previous run but not required for new run.
  • Maintains storage of, obtains, and properly mixes to standard, all coater material used.
  • Maintains supply of tinplate in feeder and coater material in coater well to ensure standard quality and continuous production.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • A desire to operate and maintain Silgan's can lines by performing and documenting quality checks and measurements.
