Job summary

Tarkett Sports in Michigan is seeking a dedicated Coating Line Operator (1st Shift) to oversee day-to-day operations of the coating department. You will verify line attendance, maintain safety, and ensure the line runs at specification speed to produce high-quality turf.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide instruction and direction to employees.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.
• Ability to solve practical problems with minimal supervision.
• Ability to read and understand SOPs and Safety Data Sheets.
• Ability to communicate effectively with employees and supervisor.
• Basic computer skills including e-mail, internet and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Verify presence of all associates on the line; adjust for absences.
• Ensure associates work safely and report unsafe acts.
• Maintain cleanliness of the coating line.
• Verify schedule per product and coating type from Planning.
• Ensure turf is produced to first quality standard.
• Run coating line at specification speed.
• Operate perforator as required.
• Contact maintenance for machine problems or breakdowns.
• Ensure autonomous maintenance is completed as specified.
• Ensure startup/shutdown checklists are completed as needed.
• Maintain inventory of consumables; report low levels.
• Follow company policies, safety procedures and regulations.

• Ensure cleanliness of coating line is maintained
• Verify schedule according to product and coating type (list received from Planning dept.)
• Ensure turf is produced at a first quality standard
• Ensure coating line is running at specification speed
• Operate perforator as required
• Contact maintenance for machine problems or breakdowns
• Ensure autonomous maintenance is completed as specified
• Ensure startup and shutdown checklists are completed as needed
• Ensure inventory of consumables are maintained; report low levels to supervisor
• Follow company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment
