Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Field Scientist to perform diverse scientific work and operate watercraft for CRMS and SWAMP programs in Louisiana. This role supports wetland restoration monitoring and assesses the effectiveness of projects, requiring field and office work across coastal environments.

The candidate will conduct ecological monitoring, collect data, and collaborate in a multidisciplinary team while adhering to safety policies. Travel to remote sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science or related Science degree.
• 4+ years of relevant environmental field experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and experience trailering and operating watercraft.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct ecological monitoring activities including vegetation surveys, hydrographic measurements, soil accretion monitoring, and water quality sampling.
• Support field data collection in southern Louisiana wetlands across various marsh environments.
• Operate boats and field equipment following safety procedures.
• Travel to remote monitoring locations including coastal waterways and open-water environments.
• Assist with routine maintenance of vessels, trailers, trucks, and equipment.
• Follow Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
