Job summary

Foth seeks a team-focused, innovative Project Engineer to support coastal, waterfront, and dredging projects across ports and marine infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with project managers, scientists, and construction teams to bring projects from concept through construction, serving communities and ecosystems.

Ideal candidate located near Petaluma or the greater SF Bay area and willing to travel 30–50% to client sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil/coastal/marine engineering or closely related field.
• EIT certification required; PE license in California preferred or achievable within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform coastal engineering analyses including wave and structural calculations for waterfront projects.
• Develop and review design drawings, details, and specs for coastal, waterfront and dredging work.
• Prepare construction documents such as plans, specs, reports and memos.
• Support construction activities with technical oversight, RFIs, submittals, and site visits.
• Assist planning, rehabilitation and construction of shoreline stabilization and marine infrastructure.
• Apply Foth methodologies to maintain quality, schedule, and cost control.
• Evaluate risks and contribute to mitigation strategies and standard practices.
• Stay updated on California coastal/marine regs to ensure compliant solutions.
• Support project schedules, budgets, and deliverables; assist with proposals and technical approaches.
