Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Project Director—Coastal and Ports to lead planning, design and management of waterfront projects from our Baton Rouge office. You will supervise staff, coordinate with clients and subconsultants, and ensure QA/QC compliance on complex coastal infrastructure programs along the Gulf Coast.

The role requires a P.E. license in TX or LA, 15+ years of coastal design experience, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive project delivery and client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil or coastal engineering (minimum)
• P.E. license in Texas or Louisiana or ability to obtain via reciprocity within 6 months of hire; APOCNE board certification preferred
• 15+ years of coastal and waterfront infrastructure design experience
• Experience with waterfront design codes and standards such as UFC, PIANC and ASCE/COPRI
• Experience with hydrodynamic numerical models such as ADCIRC, SWAN, Delft3D or Mike
• Experience in Business Development with Gulf coast agencies
• Experience with mooring analysis using Optimoor, OrcaFlex, or comparable software; including wave forces modelling for moored ships
• Domestic travel may be required up to 25% of the time
• Demonstrated leadership and strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, engineering analysis and design for coastal and waterfront structures.
• Manage staff to support growth in the Gulf coast (TX & LA).
• Perform inspection and condition assessment of waterfront infrastructure.
• Develop construction plans, specs and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with clients, subconsultants and stakeholders.
• Ensure deliverables comply with codes and QA/QC procedures.
• Interface with contractors for construction administration and RFI responses.
