Job summary

Adventist Health Tillamook is seeking a skilled paramedic to provide emergency care in the pre-hospital environment, evaluating, treating and stabilizing ill and injured patients. You will respond to emergency calls, perform CPR when needed, assess conditions and determine appropriate treatment, and deliver life-saving care according to established medical practice standards.

Qualifications

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
• Three years' full time experience in a 911 system: Preferred
• Paramedic license in state of practice: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association: Required
• AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification: Required
• Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC): Preferred
• Valid Driver’s License (DL) and must be at least 21 yrs of age or older: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS)certification from AH policy: Required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from AH policy: Required

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized care plan for patient presentation according to acceptable medical practice standards, issued standing orders, on-line medical control and department policies and procedures.
• Provides emergency care in the pre-hospital environment.
• Provides fundamental components of patient comfort, safety, privacy and respect within the perioperative setting. Identifies and develops areas of expertise within the surgical specialties.
• Conducts emergency medical classes as requested by department manager.
• Administers oral and intravenous medications. Intubates patients or performs surgical airway insertion (cricothyrotomy), and place catheters for venous access such as central venous lines.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
