University of Georgia, Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary Education and Outreach team in Savannah, GA, seeks an Education and Outreach Assistant to support operations of the Ocean Discovery Center, content creation for social media, and large outreach events. The role emphasizes public engagement, volunteer coordination, and partnership with coastal communities.

Competenze

• Experience in interpretive-based visitor centers or similar educational environments.
• Experience managing social media accounts, content creation, engagement strategies and analytics.
• Experience supporting federally funded programs and/or events.
• Background in science, education, outreach or social media (combination preferred).
• AAUS diver qualification or ability to obtainqualification desired.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for diverse learners and stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Experience in executing educational programs.
• Ability to devise practical solutions to problems as they arise.
• Ability to use computer software programs provided.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work irregular hours.
• Willingness to drive government vehicles as needed.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.

Mansioni

• Support daily operations of the GRNMS Ocean Discovery Center including developing, planning and implementing formal and informal marine education programs and activities.
• Assist in developing social media strategy, content development, and campaigns across multiple platforms.
• Recruit, train, schedule and coordinate GRNMS volunteers and training.
• Plan large-scale sanctuary outreach events and support development of annual outreach operating plan and budget.
• Support external funding opportunities that support GRNMS education and outreach.
