Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field required or equivalent.
• Experience with volunteer groups and activities.
• Content knowledge in marine science, coastal ecology and natural history.
• 2 years teaching experience with student groups aboard boats and in field settings.
• Volunteer program management experience.
• Effective verbal/written communication for public outreach and education with non-scientists.
• Ability to collaborate and work with a small team of educators, researchers, interns, volunteers, and other public stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Teach marine science and coastal ecology labs, field experiences, tours, and vessel-based learning for PK-12 students, teachers, and the public.
• Coordinate the Marine Education Center and Aquarium's volunteer program: recruitment, training, scheduling, engagement.
• Support program development, citizen science initiatives, public outreach, and visitor services to advance the Center's mission.
• Lead and manage volunteers and provide training, orientation, and ongoing engagement.
