Job summary

The City of Carlsbad is seeking part-time Lifeguards to monitor swimmers, prevent accidents, and enforce regulations at public pools. Candidates must possess CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Lifeguard Training, and may be required to obtain Title 22, EMR, or EMT certificates; prior lifeguard experience is desirable.

Training is provided onsite, with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Lifeguard knowledge and skills required.
• CPR/First aid and lifeguard knowledge.
• Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Observe swimmers to ensure safety and enforce rules.
• Rescue persons in danger and provide first aid as necessary.
• Maintain constant observation of an assigned area to identify signs of danger.
• Assist in conducting special events and in maintenance of aquatic facilities.
