Job summary

Qualifications

Job Description

Under the guidance of a Professional Engineer, the Coastal Graduate Engineer will be aiding in the design and involved in creating plans and construction documents for a variety of coastal engineering projects efforts such as shoreline protection, living shoreline concepts, coastal drainage/tidal influence considerations, and basic coastal resilience support. The Graduate Engineer will provide daily support to our team of Professional Engineers, performing both technical and administrative tasks, and contributing to overall project management. This role involves routine engineering work with a focus on developing professional skills and providing detailed, proactive project support.

Some responsibilities include:

• Performing engineering calculations related to hydraulics, grading, and material specifications to support design accuracy.
• Preparing project plans, technical drawings, specifications, and construction documents using design software (e.g., MicroStation).
• Conducting field visits to verify existing site conditions and observe construction progress.
• Collecting and analyzing engineering data; preparing reports, cost estimates, and supporting documentation.
• Coordinating with Professional Engineers, clients, and external agencies to support project delivery.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from an accredited engineering curriculum with major concentration in Civil, Environmental, Coastal, or a related engineering discipline is required.
• Preference will be given to candidates with coursework, a certificate, minor, or other formal education in coastal engineering, coastal science, water resources, or a related coastal discipline.
• Current Engineer Intern certification or ability to obtain within 12 months of employment.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
