Stantec’s Environmental Services sector seeks a Coastal Engineering Specialist to join our multidisciplinary team in Boston, MA, delivering coastal projects and supporting design, analysis, and field activities. Preferred location is Boston with flexibility for other offices and schedules.

The ideal candidate has 2-5 years of coastal engineering, port and marine construction, marine science, or oceanography experience.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in coastal engineering, port and marine engineering/construction, marine science, or oceanography.
• Strong ability to contribute to multiple areas of coastal engineering and support in the listed focus areas.

Responsibilities

• Deliver coastal projects as part of an integrated team with cost-effective designs and construction solutions.
• Apply coastal engineering principles, hydrodynamics, wave theory, and sediment transport in analyses and design.
• Perform engineering calculations and modeling for projects in coastal environments and ecosystem restoration.
• Provide engineering leadership at the project level and mentor junior engineers.
• Coordinate detailed phases of coastal engineering work in marine-related projects.
• Prepare clear design drawings, reports, and technical documentation for management review.
• Assist in obtaining State and Federal permits and ensure permit compliance.
