Job summary

Stantec is seeking a structural engineer specializing in marine and waterfront design to support our transportation practice in New England. The selected candidate must be able to manage and technically lead teams in the design and construction administration of complex waterfront projects for public and private sector clients throughout the region.

This role offers a hybrid schedule with opportunities for career development, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and potential for travel

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university.
Minimum five years of relevant structural marine and waterfront experience.
Licensed PE in a New England state with ability to obtain licensure in other states within 6 months.
Experience with engineering design tools such as MathCAD, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, BIM, and related software.
Willingness to travel within the New England area up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Performs structural marine and waterfront engineering assignments that are broad and varied in nature, requiring sound application of technical codes, standards, and guidelines.
Performs and oversees engineering planning and design assignments at key stages of projects.
Analyzes complex problems, modifies methods, procedures, processes and proposes new alternative solutions.
Preparation and coordination of project deliverables including contract documents.
Responsible for the review and sealing of contract deliverables.
Perform independent technical and quality reviews.
Exercises initiative and independent judgment in adapting and applying procedures to address unusual situations and to resolve issues.
Ensures Stantec’s engineering and design procedures and guidelines are consistently and correctly applied on projects, with an eye toward continuous improvement.
Consistently executes safe work practices and work plans while completing field and office work.
