Job summary

The University of Georgia, Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary Education and Outreach team, seeks an Education and Outreach Assistant to support the Ocean Discovery Center operations in Savannah, GA. You will help create engaging programs and coordinate youth and community education activities.

You will also assist with social media content, plan large outreach events, and coordinate volunteers, contributing to public understanding of Georgia’s coastal ecosystems and sanctuary missions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in interpretive-based visitor centers or educational environments preferred.
• Experience managing social media accounts and analytics reviews preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the Ocean Discovery Center and conduct marine education programs.
• Help develop social media strategy and campaigns.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and coordinate volunteers.
• Plan large-scale outreach events and report progress.
• Support external funding opportunities for GRNMS education programs.
