Job Description

Description: Assist in the Girls' Track program at Blue Springs South High School. Help each student achieve a high level of skill, discipline, sportsmanship, and self‑esteem.

• This position reports to the Activities Director and Head Coach.
• Salary will be commensurate with experience. Salary Range: $5,046 - $5,550.

Essential Functions

• Comprehensive knowledge of the rules and fundamentals of track.
• Provide emergency first aid.
• Maintain a conducive and safe environment.
• Maintain, issue, and keep an accurate inventory of school equipment, and model skills of the sport.
• Develop positive relations with students and parents, including appropriate dress, language, and demeanor.
• Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises students in the program.

Physical Demands

Employee frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, sit, and occasionally push or lift up to 50 lbs. Requires close vision to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. Must meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and staff.

Work Environment

Experience

Previous experience in coaching track preferred.

Education

Educator certification preferred. Must hold a valid Missouri teaching certificate or be eligible for a substitute teaching certificate (minimum 60 college credit hours).
