Job summary

New Haven Community Schools is seeking a dedicated Robotics Coach for our high school program. You will guide students in robotics design, engineering, and programming, leading the team through curriculum, workshops, and competitions.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in robotics, engineering, or a related area, preferably with high school students.
  • Strong knowledge of robotics design, programming languages (such as C++, Python, or Java), and engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with students, parents, and faculty.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate students in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, for competitions and events.
  • First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
  • A passion for teaching and a commitment to fostering a love of robotics and STEM education among students.

  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their goals.
  • Coordinate participation in local, regional, and national robotics competitions, ensuring adherence to all rules and regulations.
  • Maintain and manage robotics equipment, supplies, and workspace, ensuring a safe and functional environment for students.
  • Stay current with advancements in robotics technology and education, incorporating new tools and techniques into the program.
