REPORTS TO: Robotics Program Director
POSITION OBJECTIVE: Major responsibility of the position is to supervise and coordinate all designated Robotics Program team matters.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS: The employee must be a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees to the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values and Employee Covenant in both their professional conduct and personal lifestyle. Establish positive relationships with all the varied members of the HCS community. Display an inherent passion for God, and students. Demonstrate respect for others, especially students. Exhibit professional discernment and good judgment; Offer a Godly example that honors school standards and expectations. Address concerns and offer suggestions in an appropriate and confidential manner. Must have the desire and abilities to work closely with administration, volunteers, parents and others in the community. Represents Christ and HCS professionally and positively to other schools and organizations.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A high school diploma is required, and a Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field is desired. Prior experience working with school aged students is desired.
Assists in recruitment/outreach opportunities to attract new Robotics Program participants and coaches, assists with leading and attends student/parent meetings.
Assist in finding and training Robotics Program coaches.
Ensure all coordinators, coaches and volunteers have followed the HCS Volunteer application process.
Train mentors and communicate the HCS protocols regarding student safety, oversee mentor conduct is followed, assure compliance with all competition rules and regulations with the highest possible level of programmatic integrity, promote a harassment-free environment, and maintain proper organization/storage of school-owned equipment/materials.
Document and report any/all behavioral concerns to the Robotics Director within 12 hours of the incident, including a plan for resolution; incorporate HCS’ Discipleship plan into mentor training and student programing.
Assist with internal and external communication regarding the Robotics program.

Assist with registration, organization and overseeing competitions held on the HCS campus as well as off-site events and attend all on campus Robotics events for said team.
Organize, attend and oversee meetings, practices, scrimmages and competitions held on the HCS campus as well as off site tournaments.
Assist with scheduling student representatives to participate in the Robotics Program display at all Open House events and oversee the updating of the Open House Robotics display as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which includes remaining stationary for extended periods of time; moving up to 25 pounds.; monitoring student behavior; communicating and exchanging information, positioning oneself to assist students. Majority of time spent on a computer.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Generally indoors; potential for change in temperature/humidity; potential for excessive noise; using computer/monitor screen; generally works around or with others. Some exposure to the elements may be experienced.
FACULTY/ADMINISTRATOR CONTRACT STATUS: No
WORK SCHEDULE: Seasonal. This position requires a flexible schedule, as determined through collaboration with the administration and robotics teams, including evenings and weekends throughout competitive meets. Hours will vary, but will include no less than 3-12 hours each week during the season, not including travel time. The schedule for the most part will follow the student academic calendar. The employee in this role may find that a few days prior to the start of school and following the close of school are necessary to complete the responsibilities of the position.
