Plain Local School District is seeking a Part-Time Coach for the Middle School Boys Track program in Canton, Ohio. The First Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach and helps run practices, drills, and meets, aiming to develop student-athletes both on the track and in academics.

Responsibilities

• Assumes the responsibilities as head Coach in the absence of the Head Coach.
• Directs and assumes responsibility for the area of the program assigned by the Head Coach.
• Supports the Head Coach in conducting the athletic program of that particular sport and the total athletic program.
• Is loyal to the coach and to the team. A First Assistant Coach generally must give up some of his/her own thoughts to conform to the overall pattern as set forth by the Head Coach.
• Assists the head Coach in a manner which will be most beneficial to the entire program.
• Assumes the responsibility for the development and guidance of a specific team within the total program as assigned by the Head Coach.
• Attends all meetings requested by the Athletic administrator or Head Coach.
• Covers scouting trips requested by the Head Coach.
• Assists the Head Coach in checking in all equipment at the end of the season.
• Abides by the Athletic Department policies and operating procedures
• Performs other coaching-related duties as directed by the Head Coach, Athletic Administrator or Principal.
