Job summary

Rite of Passage is hiring a Coach Counselor for the Les Peters Academy, a female youth residential program in Saint Petersburg, FL. You will provide 24-hour supervision, monitor youth behaviors, and mentor youth during activities to support growth and safety.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 1 year of direct care with at-risk youth or 60 college hours, a valid driver's license, and the ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and TB testing. Shifts are 12 hours long.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of experience working with at-risk youth in a direct care position OR 60 hours of college education.
• Valid Driver's License required.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screening and TB test.

Responsibilities

• Provide 24-hour security and supervision to ensure youth safety.
• Monitor and document youth behaviors.
• Supervise youth during sports and recreation activities.
• Mentor and support youth as they learn and develop within the program.

Les Peters Academy is a moderate risk residential commitment program for female youth aged 14 to 19. This program provides youth comprehensive care, treatment, supervision, and evidence-based intensive mental health services. Youth will also receive psychotherapeutic services, including individual, family, and group counseling while in the program.

What you will do:

As a Coach Counselor, you will provide 24-hour security and supervision to ensure the safety of our Youth. You will monitor and document behaviors, monitor and join the Youth during Sports and Recreation time, and assist and mentor the youth while they learn and develop within the program.

To be considered you should:

• Possess a High School Diploma or GED
• Have one-year experience working with at-risk youth in a direct care position OR 60 hours of college education
• Possess a valid Driver's License
• Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screening and TB Test.

Schedule

Our Youth Care Workers work 12-hour shifts.
