Job summary

Rincon High School in Tucson is seeking a temporary athletic coach to promote sportsmanship and ensure the safety and welfare of all student-athletes during the season. You will supervise students across practice areas, locker rooms, and transit, while maintaining patience and diplomacy in interactions with players, parents, staff, officials, and spectators.

The role requires NFHS coaching and concussion certifications plus health-related trainings; the position is temporary and does not include

Qualifications

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate required (employee-paid).
• NFHS Concussion certificate required.
• NFHS Student Mental Health & Suicide Prevention certificate required.
• Current CPR with AED; First Aid required. EMT license supersedes.
• Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Bloodborne Pathogen Training required.

SUMMARY

Promote sportsmanship and foster good character in student-athletes. Provide for the safety and welfare of all participants. Supervise students in practice areas, locker rooms, busses, and at all times during the season. Exercise patience, tolerance, and diplomacy in relations with all players, parents, co-workers, contest officials, and spectators. Interscholastic activities are an extension of the classroom and as such, your actions, behavior, and interactions with our student-athletes should be reflective of this.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

• NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching certificate (at employee's expense) Fundamentals of Coaching Course
• NFHS Concussion certificate Concussion in Sports Course ATC Student-Athlete Health & Wellness certificate (must review PowerPoint and sign a document affirming PowerPoint has been reviewed)
• Act on Facts Suicide Prevention Training OR NFHSStudent Mental Health and Suicide Preventioncertificate Student Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Course

REQUIREMENTS PRIOR TO START DATE

• Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization.

STIPEND to be prorated for days missed in the sports season due to late starts or early terminations.
