Job summary

Wayzata High School is hiring an assistant debate coach for Policy Debate and Lincoln-Douglas for the 2026-27 school year. This coach will work primarily with varsity and junior varsity debate students, helping to develop arguments, cut cards, and assist the other coaches with lectures and scrimmages.

Coaches should be available for practice twice a week along with competitions on Friday and Saturday. Interested parties should contact Cody Dorumsgaard [e-mail] .

Qualifications

• Coaching experience in high school debate programs.
• Familiarity with Policy Debate and Lincoln-Douglas formats.
• Ability to cut cards and develop arguments for students.
• Assist with lectures and scrimmages when needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop arguments and cut cards for varsity and junior varsity teams.
• Assist other coaches with lectures and scrimmages.
• Be available for practice twice a week and competitions on Friday and Saturday.
