Job summary

Jenks Public Schools Trojan Swim Club in Jenks, Oklahoma is seeking a Coach Assistant to support the swimming program. The role reports to the Swim Club Coordinator and works with high school students and families to foster a safe, productive practice environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (bachelors preferred or coaching experience), CPR/First Aid/WSI certification, and the ability to pass district health and background checks. Temporary contract as needed.

• Certification in CPR, First Aid, and Water Safety Instructor (WSI).
• Satisfy district requirements with regard to health, citizenship and background check.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of swimming skills, leadership, organization and teamwork.
• Create an environment conducive to learning swimming skills.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior.
• Plan and schedule swim practice workouts.
• Attend scheduled practices and meets for assigned swim group(s).
• Assist with the oversight for safety conditions, including the facility, at all times during sessions.
• Models positive reinforcement with students and staff.
• Assist with maintenance and inventory of all swim club materials and equipment.
• Serves as swim club instructor for the program.
• Provide clerical support as needed.
• Maintain an up-to-date list of participants.
• Prepare and submit necessary reports.
• Assist in the preparation of the pool calendar and activity safety.
• Performs such other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma required, bachelors degree or higher preferred, or previous coaching experience.

• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.
