Job summary

Linde Inc. in Decatur, Alabama, is seeking a CO2 Production Technician to safely operate a Liquid Carbon Dioxide plant and ensure reliable, efficient performance. You will perform maintenance, troubleshoot equipment, and help maintain safety and quality across operations.

The role requires experience with industrial production, strong knowledge of control systems, and the ability to read P&ID diagrams. The position offers growth within a global leader in industrial gases.

Qualifications

  • Experience operating production processes or systems in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to read and revise piping and instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams.
  • Knowledge of control and human-machine interface software (Wonderware, Rockwell, Siemens).
  • Safety-focused professional capable of operating forklifts, cranes, and aerial work platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Liquid Carbon Dioxide plant safely to ensure reliable, efficient performance and assist maintenance and repairs.
  • Monitor process performance, adjust operating parameters, and collect data for safety, reliability and quality.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance using the CMMS while complying with change management.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, oversee contractors, and implement lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Support material handling, scheduling, and housekeeping to maintain a safe work area.

CO2 Production Technician
What you will enjoy doing*
  • You will safely operate a Liquid Carbon Dioxide plant to ensure reliable, efficient, and consistent performance while performing and facilitating maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on plant equipment to sustain operational readiness
  • Monitor process performance, adjust operating parameters, and collect and interpret condition-monitoring data to maintain safety, reliability, quality, and efficiency
  • Perform and document preventive and predictive maintenance tasks using the computerized maintenance management system while maintaining compliance with management of change requirements
  • Engage cross-functional groups to resolve equipment and process issues, oversee contractors, execute lockout and tagout procedures, and recommend improvements to maintenance strategies and work processes
  • Further, fill liquid bulk trailers, resolve fill zone issues, support maintenance scheduling and material procurement, and maintain housekeeping and organization within the work area

  • You demonstrate experience operating production processes or systems in an industrial environment, with strong proficiency in mechanical equipment, electrical systems, and industrial instrumentation
  • Possess knowledge of control and human-machine interface software such as Wonderware, Rockwell, and Siemens, along with the ability to read and revise piping and instrumentation diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams
  • You are a safety-focused professional with a High School Diploma or equivalent, with an Associate Degree from a technical school preferred, who communicates technical information clearly, safely operates forklifts, cranes, and aerial work platforms, and performs work at height
  • Moreover, maintain strong computer skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook; apply analytical skills to support troubleshooting and quality-related activities; uphold safety standards and procedures; support continuous improvement initiatives; meet the physical requirements of the role, including confined space entry, climbing, lifting up to fifty pounds, and working at heights; and provide flexible support for extended hours, weekends, holidays, and call-in coverage to ensure a reliable and safety-focused presence during critical operational periods
