Job summary

AES Corporation is seeking an intern to support the OH PMO team on electric utility projects, with exposure to substation and transmission planning. You will collaborate with engineers, construction teams, and procurement to help schedule, budget, and report on progress.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with project management software a plus.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Assist project managers in planning and tracking electric utility projects—focusing on substation and transmission line projects
  • Help prepare project schedules, budgets, and progress reports using tools like Microsoft Project or Primavera P6
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, and procurement teams to ensure materials and resources are in place
  • Participate in site visits to observe construction progress, safety practices, and quality control measures

  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by analyzing project data and identifying efficiency opportunities
Requirements:
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business or a related field
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with project management software is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
  • A willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative in a fast‑paced environment
  • Interest in the electric utility industry and infrastructure development.
