Job summary

Bloomingfoods in Bloomington seeks a team member to deliver high-quality service and manage daily tasks across receiving, stocking, deli prep, and counter service, in a retail cooperative setting.

You will assist customers, handle deliveries, stock displays, and help with food preparation while upholding co-op policies and cleanliness standards. Ability to work outdoors and in coolers is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, reach, bend, and climb.
• Willingness to work in coolers and freezers.
• Willingness to work outside in the elements.
• Regular, predictable attendance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to efficiency, detail, and accuracy.
• Familiarity with Windows 7 operating system.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal and external customers with excellent service at all times.
• Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect.
• Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service in all areas according to standards.
• Educate non-member customers about the co-op business model and ownership advantages.
• Inspect deliveries for damage, expiration dates, and quality.
• Stock displays and rotate items according to schematics.
• Prepare in-house deli foods following recipes.
• Assemble and finish foods for the food bar.
• Handle opening/closing and maintain cleanliness and organization.
• Maintain clean storage areas and report discrepancies.
