Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim is seeking co-op IT Advanced Applications candidates to work in the IT Ops and Labs team at the Animal Health campus in Athens, GA. The role supports AI, data science, APIs, IoT, BI and related technologies to improve operations and decision making.

Co-op role is on-site 2-3 days per week, with a duration of 4–6 months depending on business needs, and requires commuting distance to Athens.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate student in a related field with coursework aligned to IT/AI.
• Must have completed at least 12 credit hours in related major and maintain good academic standing.
• Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 (no rounding).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business partners to collect ideas for application and process improvements.
• Propose IT-centered enhancements, use-cases, and solutions.
• Develop a pilot project with local IT team using state-of-the-art tech (AI/ML/IoT/APIs/SQL).

Boehringer Ingelheim is currently seeking talented and innovative co-op candidates to join our IT Ops and Labs department, working at our Animal Health campus in Athens, GA. As a member of the IT O&L team, you will be responsible for collecting, evaluating and implementing IT- and data-centric improvement ideas. Co-Op candidates will work with a global team of colleagues to deliver innovative solutions in the areas of AI, Data Science, Software Engineering, APIs, IoT, business intelligence and/or other state-of-the‑art technologies in order to support our company’s operations and decision-making processes.

This role is an Co-op role is an on-site position 2-3 days per week in Athens, GA. Applicants will need to be located within commuting distance for the duration of the Co-op / Internship.

• Expect to be on-site for at least 3 days per week and must be located in the local area for the Co-op.
• Co-op Students will work for at least 4 months after the start date. We may extend you up to 6 months in total depending on business needs. These are Full time positions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business partners to collect ideas for application/process improvements.
• Propose IT-centered enhancements, technology use-cases, and/or solutions.
• Work with local IT team to develop a pilot project to implement an improvement project. This project will seek to utilize a state-of-the‑art technology, framework, tool or technique, in a way that provides value. Technologies may include:
  • AI\Machine Learning\Data Science\LLMs
  • IoT
  • APIs
  • Database\SQL
  • RPA
• Execute the pilot project using Agile methodologies and framework.
• Upon execution of the pilot project(s), document the solution design, and transfer the necessary knowledge and lessons learned to local IT team.
• Support business partners with technology‑related needs.

Requirements

• At least two years of experience with software development, preferrably with ASP.net, Java or Python coding language(s).
• Must be an Undergraduate, Graduate, or Professional Student in good academic standing.
• Must have completed 12 credit hours within a related major and/or other related coursework.
• Overall, cumulative GPA (from last completed quarter) must be at least 3.0 on 4.0 scale (no rounding up).
• Major must be related to the field of internship.

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
• Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required)
• Must be 18 years of age or older
