Job summary

Entergy Mississippi, LLC is seeking a co-op student to gain hands-on experience in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering within the utility industry. You will work under supervision, supporting engineers on diverse projects and customer interfaces.

Responsibilities include assisting with design studies, outage restoration support, and interfacing with customers. The role is onsite with potential travel up to 25% and requires full-time student status and GPA 2.8+.

Qualifications

  • Electrical, Mechanical or Civil engineering majors, full-time student.
  • GPA of 2.8+ required (4.0 scale).

JOB SUMMARY

Gain experience and exposure to practical engineering applications within the utility industry.Individual normally works under close supervision and will perform a variety of functions and work on various projects, working with engineers and engineering associates.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Assist full Design personnel in the following activities:

  • Interface with external Customers to provide electric service.
  • Design electric distribution facilities and perform various engineering studies using computer based systems.
  • Work as part of a cross-function Team to meet the needs of Customers.
  • Assist in outage restoration efforts as needed.
  • Work is approximately 50% in office and 50% out of office, year around.
  • Work assignment complexity and responsibility grows with tenure of student employees.
  • Performs other duties as directed by management.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Seeking Electrical, Mechanical, and Civil Engineering Majors to work a full-time schedule during thedesignated semesters.
    • Must have currently enrolled in school full-time, pursuing a bachelor’s degree as indicated above.
    • Preferred: Sophmore classification at minimum.
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale).
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Computer skills–- familiar with various databases, as well as Windows environment and Microsoft toolkit (Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have good communication and customer service skills.
