This internship involves assisting departments or projects by performing basic engineering tasks aligned with standard post-secondary engineering curricula.

Under close supervision, assists the Transportation Department by performing tasks such as designing highway, bridge, and transit system projects, including work for PennDOT, PA Turnpike, SEPTA, and Amtrak.
Aspects of the position include:
* Assisting in highway design documentation, including alignments, design criteria, signing, pavement markings, traffic control, utility coordination, right-of-way, drainage, grading, and cost estimates.
* Participating in field visits or client meetings.
* Developing CAD drafting skills.
Our Philadelphia and King of Prussia, PA offices are seeking Co-op Engineers for Fall/Winter 2025-2026.
Relocation and housing are NOT provided for these positions.
What You’ll Do:
- Assist engineering teams in various tasks.
- Support research, development, and design of projects.
- Help prepare engineering drawings and documents.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent plus current enrollment in an accredited post-secondary engineering program.
What You’ll Bring:- Basic understanding of engineering, geometric, and algebraic principles.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to accept and apply guidance from peers and supervisors.
- Understanding of introductory shop drawing and submittal procedures.
- Basic engineering calculation skills.
- Ability to organize information for drawings or documents.
What We Prefer:
- Completion of 2 years of post-secondary engineering coursework.
- Basic knowledge of drafting software (AutoCAD, Microstation, or OpenRoads).
- Interest in highway design and transportation projects.
