Job summary

Fives Machining Systems, Inc (FMSI) in Hebron, KY offers a Co-op in Electrical Engineering designed to involve you in the full engineering design process. You will work on machine tool product design and analysis from start to finish on real projects at the Hebron facility near Cincinnati.

Qualifications

• Co-op enrollment in EE program required.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• GPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and analysis of machine tool products, with follow-up during assembly and testing.
• Acquire skills in: design input requirements, subsystem/system analysis.
• Drafting practices and standards; 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation.
• BOM release authority; design verification/validation testing.
• Interfacing with Controls Electrical engineering teams.
• Participating on cross functional project team.
• Engage in continuous improvement and customer satisfaction activities.
• Root cause problem analysis; FMEA; hazard analysis.

Compensation:

The student will be exposed to the engineering design process by being given assignments of increasing scope and responsibility over the course of his/her coop career at Fives Machining Systems, Inc (FMSI).

Job responsibilities will encompass :

• Design and analysis of machine tool products, with follow-up during assembly and unit/prototype testing in lab environments and or the production shop floor.
• Depending on the specific engineering discipline, the student will acquire skills in the following:
  • Understanding design input requirements
  • Analysis of design, for both subsystem and system level products
  • Drafting practices and standards 3D modeling and 2D drawing creation
  • Creation of Bill of Material Release Authority Design verification/validation testing
  • Interfacing with the Controls Electrical engineering teams
  • Participating on cross functional project team

The student will also be exposed :

• Continuous improvement and customer satisfaction activities
• Root cause problem analysis
• Failure modes and effects analysis
• Hazard analysis

This FMSI co-op position is for the Fives Cincinnati facility. The facility is located at 2200 Litton Lane, Hebron KY, within 5 minutes of the Greater Cincinnati Airport, CVG.
