Job summary

Bloomingfoods is hiring for a front‑line role in Bloomington to provide outstanding customer service and handle receiving, stocking, and cashier duties in a busy retail environment.

You will stock displays, maintain clean and organized spaces, and assist customers while following co‑op policies. The job requires standing long periods, lifting up to 50lbs, and willingness to work in coolers, freezers, and outdoors as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs, reach, bend, and climb.
• Willingness to work in coolers and freezers.
• Willingness to work outside in the elements.
• Regular, predictable attendance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Windows 7 operating system.

Responsibilities

• Provide internal and external customers with excellent service at all times.
• Treat people fairly, consistently, and with respect.
• Ensure efficient, informative, and friendly service in all areas according to standards.
• Use appropriate language, behavior, and conduct with customers, vendors, and store personnel.
• Educate non-member customers about the co‑op business model and cooperative ownership.
• Receive, stock, cashier, and assist customers in a retail environment.
• Maintain clean, organized displays and proper price labeling.
• Perform opening/closing procedures and ensure store cleanliness and safety.
