Job summary

University of Texas at Austin’s Cockrell School of Engineering seeks a Co-op & Career Programs Coordinator to deliver premier career services for students and alumni on the UT Austin campus. You’ll lead the Engineering Co-op Program, advise on career planning, and collaborate with employers and university partners to create meaningful opportunities.

The role is full-time on the UT Main Campus with a 40-hour work week, typically 8:00 a.m.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and five years of experience coordinating student programs, recruiting, student advising or related responsibilities.
• Ability to work effectively with college students and communicate professionally with a broad range of constituents.
• Experience leading, training, or coordinating student employees or volunteers.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple programs with independence and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace and capacity to learn databases and university systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day administration of the Engineering Co-op Program for multiple cohorts.
• Advise students on program requirements, timelines and career transitions.
• Promote the Co-op Program through sessions, outreach and digital communications.
• Maintain relationships with employers and develop new co-op opportunities.
• Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to support participation and administration.
• Monitor participation and recommend improvements to processes and experiences.
