Job summary

Journeys Kidz at Gurnee Mills, IL, part of Genesco, is seeking a Store Leadership candidate to assist the Store Manager and Training Manager in recruiting, hiring, and developing store personnel. This role drives sales, protects assets, and upholds company standards.

You’ll lead a high-energy team, coach staff, and ensure a fun, full-service experience for customers while growing with the company. Growth opportunities from within are emphasized.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail or sales leadership required.
• Ability to recruit, train, and manage store staff.
• Proven coaching and performance feedback skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed sales goals and performance standards.
• Assist in recruiting and hiring high-caliber employees.
• Train and develop a successful sales team.
• Provide feedback and enforce company policies.
• Implement company initiatives and standards.
• Identify and develop high-potential staff for growth.
• Supervise daily store operations in leadership absence.
• Oversee loss-prevention practices during leadership absence.
• Communicate store needs to management.
• Resolve customer issues and provide a fun, full-service experience.
• Demonstrate Journeys culture to the team.
• Maintain excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Be willing to learn and grow into leadership roles.
• Work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends.
• Complete training leading to Co-Manager role.
