Job summary

Loenbro, LLC is seeking a Project Engineer Intern to join our Operations team on-site in Colorado. You will support project engineers, managers, and superintendents with planning, scheduling, and documentation on construction projects.

This seasonal internship offers hands-on experience across end markets, requires pursuing a degree in Construction Management or Engineering, and emphasizes safety, teamwork, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Engineers, Managers, and Superintendents with day-to-day project activities.
  • Support document control (RFIs, submittals, drawings, specs).
  • Assist with scheduling, progress tracking and reporting.
  • Participate in quantity takeoffs and budget support.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, vendors and suppliers.
  • Attend project meetings, site walks, and safety briefings.
  • Maintain project documentation and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Support quality control and safety initiatives on site.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to ensure delivery.

Job Summary

The Project Engineer Intern supports project teams in planning, coordinating, and executing construction projects across various industries and technical disciplines. This internship offers hands‑on exposure to real‑world construction operations, providing opportunities to learn how projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget. Interns may be assigned to different end markets, services, and geographic locations based on business needs and individual interests.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Assist Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Superintendents with day‑to‑day project activities

Minimum Qualifications
  • Strong interest in construction and project delivery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); familiarity with construction software is a plus
  • Willingness to travel or relocate temporarily based on project needs
Preferred
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with construction software
  • Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, or other asset‑intensive, multi‑site organizations

Work Environment
  • Ability to work in both office and active construction site environments
  • Must be able to comply with all safety requirements and policies
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs/ladders, and lift up to 25 lbs as needed
  • Potential visits to outdoor industrial sites with exposure to weather extremes.
  • Potential exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, or other environmental factors.

This role requires compliance with all applicable safety regulations, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and Loenbro's Environmental Health and Safety (EH&S) policies.
