About the Role

Americanflat is seeking a talented Co-Gead of Sales to lead and scale our Amazon business across global marketplaces. This individual will serve as the primary liaison between our company and Amazon’s vendor management teams while driving sales growth, optimizing profitability, and ensuring operational excellence. This role will function as a key leader reporting to our CEO and VP of Finance with responsibility for managing the Amazon and Marketplace teams.

The Co-Head of Sales will oversee pricing, promotional deals, inventory health, contractual agreements, and overall sales performance on Amazon’s Vendor Central platform. While advertising does not fall under this role’s direct scope, familiarity with Amazon Advertising is essential. Additionally, experience with other eCommerce platforms (Walmart, Target, Wayfair, Michaels, Macys, Faire, etc.) is a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic leader at Americanflat and full P/L ownership of Amazon for Americanflat.
  • Own and drive annual sales targets for Amazon, ensuring growth and profitability across global marketplaces.
  • Optimize pricing strategies, promotional deal submissions, and wholesale cost structures to maximize sales and profitability.
  • Maintain strong relationships with eCommerce partners to enhance marketplace presence and revenue opportunities.
  • Review and negotiate Amazon Agreements, ensuring compliance with business objectives and contributing to annual vendor negotiations.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand sales through Amazon, Marketplace, and DTC channels.
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics, identifying opportunities and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Ensure advertising spend within each marketplace remains profitable and aligns with total sales and gross margin targets.
  • Identify new product opportunities, category expansions, and trends, collaborating with the Product Development team for successful onboarding and launches.
  • Ensure maximum marketplace potential through strategic product assortment and pricing.
  • Partner with FP&A and Finance teams to ensure profitability goals and overall financial health of the Amazon channel.

These are all operational focused and not for this specific role:

  • Monitor and resolve issues related to stranded inventory, CRaP ASINs (Cannot Realize a Profit), and lost buy box situations, ensuring product availability and sales efficiency.
  • Suggest BTR (Born to Run) or DF (Direct Fulfillment) items and implement strategies to minimize retention fees.
  • Lead markdown and clearance pricing strategies to optimize inventory turnover and reduce excess stock.
  • Analyze pricing, margins, and channel profitability to optimize revenue generation across all marketplaces.
  • Work closely with the Inventory Demand Planning team to prevent stockouts while avoiding excess inventory positions.
  • Collaborate with Operations to achieve sales targets and maintain a healthy supply chain.
  • Minimize chargebacks, storage fees, shortages, and price claims by ensuring operational efficiency

Requirements:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience managing a Vendor Central account, with demonstrated success in driving sales and profitability.
  • Proven leadership experience with direct responsibility for team performance and development.
  • Deep understanding of Amazon’s vendor processes, pricing, promotions, listing optimization, and inventory management best practices.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven approach to strategic decision-making.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and annual vendor term setting.
  • High competence in creating and implementing efficient SOPs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and external partner engagement.

What We’re Looking for in You:

  • Adaptable & Resourceful: Navigate change and prioritize effectively.
  • Multitasker: Balance multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Creative & Curious: Always seeking new, innovative solutions.
  • People-Oriented: Friendly, diplomatic, and eager to collaborate.
