Howard University School of Law seeks a Co-Director of Academic Success and Bar Preparation to lead, design, and continuously improve its academic support and bar prep programs in partnership with the other Co-Director.

This position advances the School's mission by helping students build doctrinal knowledge, analytical skills, and exam-taking strategies to succeed in law school, pass the bar on the first attempt, and enter the legal profession as practice-ready attorneys.

Responsabilités

• Co-lead the design, delivery, and continuous improvement of a comprehensive academic success and bar preparation program serving students from matriculation through bar admission.
• Develop courses, workshops, and seminars covering NextGen Bar Exam content and integrated lawyering tasks such as legal research, negotiation, and client counseling.
• Monitor NCBE guidance and relevant licensing jurisdictions during the NextGen transition and translate guidance into updated programming.
• Identify at-risk students using performance data and design targeted intervention and coaching plans.
• Provide one-on-one and small-group academic coaching, exam-skills instruction, and bar-readiness counseling.
• Collaborate with doctrinal faculty to align academic support with NextGen skills and content specifications.
• Manage relationships with commercial bar prep vendors and integrate NextGen resources with internal programming.
• Recruit, train, and supervise tutors, teaching assistants, and other staff.
• Track, analyze, and report bar passage outcomes and program metrics for ABA standards compliance and improvement.
• Assist in designing first-year and upper-level academic success curricula and study-skills workshops.
• Represent the program in university committees and accrediting bodies as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean or Associate Dean.
