Job summary

Norwalk Hospital is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife to join our OB/GYN program in Norwalk, Connecticut. This brand-new position supports 24-hour on-call coverage and two eight-hour clinic days weekly, in a 40-hour work week structure.

The CNMs provide first-assist support on cesarean deliveries and deliver care across both hospital and community clinics, with strong backup from OB/GYN hospitalists and a focus on patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• Connecticut RN license and Master's degree required.
• Graduate of an approved Certified Nurse Midwife program and current AMCB certification.
• State of CT RN, CNM license, CT State Controlled Substance and Federal DEA Registration required.
• 2+ years CNM experience required.
• Spanish skills preferred but not mandatory.
• Flexibility to cover PTO of other employees; 24-hour on-call schedule (7AM–7AM) seven days a week and two 8-hour office days per week.

Responsibilities

• Provide CNM care within the OB/GYN program and participate in 24-hour on-call coverage.
• Follow up with patients in the office setting and during the perioperative period.
• Assist with cesarean sections as First Assist and coordinate with OB/GYN hospitalists.
