Job summary
Certarus is a North American leader in low carbon energy solutions delivering CNG, RNG, and hydrogen. Our Compression Technician role encompasses preventive and corrective maintenance of CNG compression assets, with regional travel and day/night shifts.
The position reports to the Lead Compression Technician and operates across our Karnes City Hub. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years field service gas compressor experience, proficiency with CMMS, and strong communication skills in English.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years field service gas compressor experience.
- Waukesha VGF or Ariel systems experience is a plus.
- Clean driving record and ability to travel 60–80% within the Southern/Central US.
- Must communicate in English.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on CNG compression equipment.
- Inspect parts and measure dimensional changes with precision tools.
- Troubleshoot repetitive and intermittent performance issues at component level.
- Conduct electrical, PLC, and instrumentation troubleshooting as needed.
- Commission new assets and assist end-service inspections.
- Maintain CMMS records and contribute to spare parts inventory.
- Prepare maintenance reports and trends analyses for management.
