O&G Industries is seeking a CNC Water Jet Operator & Digital Template Technician to join our specialized stone fabrication team in Beacon Falls, Connecticut.

This position combines CNC machining, CAD/CAM, precision measurement, and digital scanning to produce highly customized stone products. The successful candidate will operate a 5-axis CNC water jet and use digital scanning technology to capture and verify complex shapes and dimensions for fabrication.

Our Beacon Falls fabrication center produces custom stonework for a wide range of applications, including countertops, pool surrounds, fireplace surrounds, architectural elements, and other highly detailed stone designs.

What You'll Do

• Operate a 5-axis CNC water jet to cut and shape granite, marble, limestone, bluestone, quartz, and other stone materials.
• Set up and safely operate water jet cutting equipment, including loading material, aligning the cutting head, and setting cutting parameters.
• Load, review, and make appropriate adjustments to CAD/CAM programs used for CNC cutting.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, templates, dimensions, and work orders.
• Use precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and finished products.
• Digitally capture templates and objects using a FARO 3D digitizer.
• Compare captured scan data to CAD models to verify dimensions, contours, and tolerances.
• Set up, calibrate, and maintain digitizing equipment to ensure measurement accuracy.
• Identify and troubleshoot basic equipment, programming, or dimensional issues.
• Inspect completed pieces to ensure they meet drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
• Safely handle and position large and heavy stone materials.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all safety procedures related to high-pressure water equipment, CNC machinery, material handling, and required PPE.
• Work collaboratively with designers, fabricators, CNC technicians, and other members of the production team.

What We're Looking For

• Experience operating CNC machinery, water jet equipment, or other computerized manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software, CNC controllers, or digital fabrication technology preferred.
• Experience with 3D scanning, digitizing, or FARO equipment is highly desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of measurements, dimensions, tolerances, and basic geometry.
• Strong computer skills and ability to learn specialized software and equipment.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to precision.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment and production issues.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to safely lift and handle heavy materials and work on your feet for extended periods.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.

This is more than a traditional machine operator position. You will work at the intersection of technology, engineering, design, and craftsmanship, using digital tools to transform complex designs and physical templates into precision-fabricated stone products.
