Job summary

Round-Peg Solutions (RPS) in Placentia, California, is seeking an experienced CNC Vertical Machinist for aerospace manufacturing. The role involves setting up and operating 3- and 4-axis vertical milling machines to produce precision components in line with engineering drawings.

You will read blueprints, inspect parts with micrometers and calipers, adjust tooling, and maintain quality while supporting production schedules.

CNC Vertical Machinist – Aerospace Manufacturing

Location: Placentia, California

Pay: $25–$35 per hour, depending on experience

Shifts: 2nd Shift & 3rd Shift

Overtime: Regular overtime and Saturday working available/required depending on production needs

Our client is an established designer and manufacturer of aircraft latches and latching systems, with more than 80 years of aerospace heritage. Their components are used across commercial, military and space programmes, providing employees with the opportunity to work on high-quality, precision aerospace products.

Due to continued production requirements, they are looking for experienced CNC Vertical Machinists to join their Placentia facility on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

The Role:

As a CNC Vertical Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating vertical CNC milling equipment to manufacture precision components in line with engineering and quality requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Set up and operate 3 and 4-axis vertical CNC milling machines.
• Review production schedules and prepare machines for required job orders.
• Adjust tooling and machine settings according to CNC programmes.
• Manufacture components to required dimensions and tolerances.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Inspect completed components using precision measuring equipment.
• Use instruments including micrometers and calipers to verify part quality.
• Carry out routine machine lubrication, cleaning and inspections.
• Maintain consistent quality while supporting production targets and delivery requirements.
• Follow all relevant safety, quality and manufacturing procedures.

What We’re Looking For

• Approximately 3–6 years of machine shop/CNC machining experience.
• Strong experience with vertical CNC milling machines.
• CNC machine setup and operating experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints.
• Experience working with tight tolerances and precision components.
• Confident using micrometers, calipers and other inspection equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Aerospace or other precision manufacturing experience would be advantageous.
• Ability to work 2nd or 3rd shift.
• Flexibility to work overtime and Saturdays when required is preferred.
